Choose one specific task before you start.

Use the timer as a boundary, not a score

Start by writing one result you can check, such as “solve two equations and verify both answers.” A short session is useful when the task is clear. Choose 15 minutes for recalling definitions or beginning a difficult task, 25 minutes for one worked example, and 45 or 60 minutes only when you can stay with the same type of work. The preset is a convenience, not a rule or a measure of how well you studied.

Pause if you need information that is not available, if the task changes, or if you are repeatedly guessing. Write the missing prerequisite before opening another tab. During a break, leave the question visible but stop solving it. A five-minute break should help you return with a decision: continue, simplify the task, or move the unfinished step to your planner.

At the end, do not count time alone. Record what you produced, one error you corrected, and the exact first action for your next session. If you finished early, use the remaining time to check the answer independently instead of filling the interval with unrelated work. For a guided version with recall, practice and review stages, use the revision workshop.
